Religion permeates every aspect of life and whether a person believes or follows a religion or not, the facts are still a prominent and important fixture of society. While there are numerous amounts of religions of the world, there are only a handful of major religions practiced around the world. The major world religions include Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Jainism. No matter the religion followed, a person can find details on how to live life and answers to questions important to the individual through the beliefs and practices of the faith. </p> <p>The religion of Christianity believes in a single God. The Holy Trinity of the Christian religion includes the three persons in a single God including, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the main text of the religion. Followers believe in the death, resurrection, and the return of Jesus as well as life after death in Heaven. Jesus is the Messiah sent by God.</p> <p>The religion of Buddhism believes in living a life based on the Four Noble Truths. The fourth Noble Truth mentions the Eightfold Path, a means for the follower to live a proper life learning and building upon the eight steps. Religious texts are part of the religion of Buddhism, but the major scriptures are the Mahayana Sutras, the Tripitaka, and The Tibetan Book of the Dead.</p> <p>The religion of Judaism believes in a single God, the creator of every living thing. Moses is the major prophet for the religion. The Torah is the major religious text for the followers of Judaism. The text of the Torah has not been altered as the belief indicates the words are the same as when the text was handed to Moses by God. The followers are still waiting for the Messiah to be sent by God.</p> <p>Religion has such a profound effect on the lives of people across the world. The wonderful nature of religion and the way people are helped through the following and teaching of the religious life is incredible and gratifying.
