Nature, Man and Transcendence

Nature can be defined as the particular combination of qualities belonging to a person, animal, thing, or class by birth, origin, or constitution.  Throughout many portions of his book Transcendence:  Saving Us from Ourselves, ISBN 978-098151163-4, Navin Doshi discusses Nature as being considered the fourth part of man’s self.  It partners with the somatic self, the psychic self and the spiritual self to make man whole.  In the process of Nature being in equilibrium with the other selves of man, an eco-friendly way of living is achieved.

Doshi also discusses the wealth within every form of Nature.  There is more than enough in Nature for everyone’s needs but not for greed and want.  Unfortunately, man leans toward greed and want, as opposed to just his needs when his four parts of his self are not in equilibrium.  As man cannot achieve transcendence without equilibrium, Nature suffers from overuse of its many wealths.

Man must recognize that to have all four selves of his whole being in equilibrium will allow him to transcend this life.  With transcendence being defined as being above and independent of the material universe, man strives to find the equilibrium between his somatic self, his psychic self, his spiritual self and Nature so that he may achieve transcendence.  Man strives for transcendence.
